Your Original Components

For most upholstery work, BADLAB will require your original components.

Once the design and quotation have been agreed, your seats, trim panels or other interior components can be delivered or sent to BADLAB for the work to be completed.

This avoids the need to maintain large stocks of vehicle-specific interiors and allows your original components to be rebuilt specifically for your vehicle.

From time to time, BADLAB may also offer complete pre-built interior sets using donor components. These will be listed separately when available.

Turnaround

Typical turnaround is 7–14 days from receipt of your components, once the final specification has been agreed.

This is an estimated working period and may vary depending on the size and complexity of the project, material availability and any additional work identified after dismantling.

If a project is expected to take longer, this will be discussed with you.

Materials & Design

A wide range of interior styles can be produced using materials such as:

  • Automotive vinyl
  • Automotive fabric
  • Premium synthetic suede
  • Leather
  • Patterned and specialist fabrics
  • Customer-selected materials

Different materials can be combined across individual panels to create more distinctive designs.

Stitching colour, seam style, piping and other details can also be specified.

Material suitability will be discussed before manufacture, particularly for heavily used areas such as seat bolsters and driver’s seats.

Foam, Structure & Additional Repairs

Standard upholstery quotations assume that the supplied component is structurally serviceable unless repair work has already been identified and included within the quotation.

Once an interior component has been dismantled, previously hidden issues may become apparent. These can include:

  • Collapsed or damaged foam
  • Worn or missing bolster material
  • Damaged backing structures
  • Broken internal clips or fixings
  • Failed seat-heating elements
  • Damaged listing wires or attachment points
  • Corrosion or damage to seat frames
  • Previous poor-quality repairs or modifications

If additional work is identified that falls outside the agreed quotation, work will be stopped and the customer contacted before any additional repair or cost is incurred.

The required work and any additional cost will be explained and must be agreed by the customer before the project continues.

No additional chargeable repair work will be carried out without customer approval.

BADLAB can also repair, reshape or modify seat foam where a different level of support, comfort or seating profile is required.

Vehicle-Specific Interiors

BADLAB is developing patterns and interior components for selected vehicles, beginning with the Mazda RX-8.

Once a vehicle has been fully developed, dedicated packages may be offered with more predictable pricing and specification.

These can include:

  • Front seat pair
  • Rear seats
  • Door-card inserts
  • Centre armrest
  • Gear gaiter
  • Complete coordinated interior packages

How to Request a Quote

To request an upholstery quotation, please send:

  • Vehicle make, model and year
  • Photographs of the components
  • Which components you would like upholstered
  • Preferred material or general style
  • Preferred colour scheme
  • Stitching colour
  • Any repairs or modifications you already know are required
  • Your location or whether the components will be delivered or posted

If you already have inspiration images or a particular design in mind, include those too.

We can then develop the specification and provide a quotation before any work begins.
